Artificial sweeteners such as Aspartame and Sucralose (Splenda) are found in more than 6,000 foods, including soft drinks, chewing gum, diet and diabetic foods, breakfast cereals, jams, sweets, vitamins and prescription and over the counter drugs. But, did you know that Aspartame was previously listed by the Pentagon as a biochemical warfare agent? It is the most controversial food additive, and the most contested in FDA history. Even still, it was approved for use as food, not on scientific grounds, but because of political and financial pressure.
There have been more reports to the FDA for aspartame reactions than for all More >

I suppose you could say Jacob, the “supplanter”, was born wanting more. He had a twin; the two babies struggled in the womb for position. His brother, Esau, emerged first. Jacob followed, literally, “on his heels”, as he grasped Esau’s ankle. Jacob lost that first battle but set the stage for the early part of their lives: two brothers striving for supremacy. Because he was the eldest son, Esau pretty much had it made. He was entitled to the birthright (the greater share of the inheritance) and the blessing that came along with it. Esau was a hunter and he More >

If you’re a Sprint HTC Hero owner, odds are at one point or another you’ve re-thought your decision to purchase the phone. I know; I’ve been there.
People give lots of reasons for dissatisfaction with the Hero. Battery life is chief among the complaints. There’s also sluggish performance. Of course, there’s the fact that the Hero is running the oldest of the current versions of Android, with a rumored upgrade nowhere in sight.
So, yeah – I get frustrated with my Hero, occasionally. Did I make a bad purchase? No. I didn’t. Even with all the above issues (which, by the way, More >

Compose, communicate, and converse on the go with HootSuite for Android. Manage multiple Twitter accounts, customize searches, upload photos, receive notifications, and more. Simple, elegant, and powerful, HootSuite allows you to send and schedule Twitter updates from anywhere.
Developed for Android by HootSuite
This application does look nice but in my opinion it has too many screens. I’m not used to going to a main screen to open up another screen for a different action. I prefer most actions to be incorporated into one screen with menu options or tabs. Some people have found this to be the Twitter application for them, More >

Vitamin D has been shown to influence over 2,000 of the 30,000 genes in our body. It is for this reason that vitamin D influences more than just our bone health. It also has a protective affect against cancer by decreasing the spread and reproduction of cancer cells as well as increasing the death of mutated cells. It can even fight colds and the flu by influencing our immune system to attack and destroy bacteria and viruses. Furthermore, vitamin D has been shown to influence other conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis (Rheumatoid and osteoarthritis), infertility and PMS, inflammatory More >

“Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.” Psalm 71-:18
“so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.” Psalm 78:6
People in my family are all big talkers. When we get together, we can talk through the night and into the early hours of the morning. It’s what we do. So when my brother came to town to visit and stayed in my home, I knew we were More >

Android is a kingdom divided. What do I mean? You thought Android was … well, Android? It is. Basically. And it’s not. Kind of. Let me explain …
Android has 3 main different versions. They are all Android; in the same sense that that all versions of Windows are all Windows. Actually, it’s not that extreme but you get my point – I hope. These are the versions of Android in phones that are currently for sale. These versions range from v1.5 on the Hero (yes, I’m frustrated) to v1.6 on the G1 to v2.0 on the Nexus One. To make More >

You may have noticed quite a few changes on Brenda Cares Corner the last few days. I’ve decided to remove the PC Tech business side and allow the Blog to flow in a more personal manner. What I’ve decided to add is more of “Brenda,” that’s me! “Living Life” will be articles expressing any and everything about my experiences living life. Sometimes I may post several times a day or not even daily at all. I’m just living life, learning, and endeavoring to enjoy every single minute of it. Living Life could be considered a form of Journaling but I’m More >
