How to Create New Docs in Docs To Go Standard Edition
I know many of you long time users know about this tip but I find that many new Blackberry Users are not aware that they have the ability to do this so I decided to write a how to for them!
This isn’t a difficult process but you will need a PC with Word, Excel and Powerpoint installed. You need to create a Blank document in each application so you end up with 3 files; Blank.doc, Blank.xls and Blank.ppt. Now copy these 3 files onto your Micro SD Card to whatever Folder you’re going to use with your Docs To Go. I created a Folder on my SD Card and named it Documents this is the main folder for my Docs To Go Documents but of course I have subfolders depending on what document I’m creating.
How to Create a New Document in Docs to Go Stand Edition – Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- On your Blackberry open Documents To Go.

- Open Word.

- Word to Go will open to it’s Main Directory.

- Go to the Directory you created for your Documents to Go Files. You will see your Blank.doc file.

- Open the Blank.doc and press the Menu button to select Edit Mode.

- Create your new document.

- Press the Menu Button and select SAVE AS, NOT SAVE BUT “SAVE AS”. If you select save you will be overwriting your Blank.doc you want to create a new document with another name so your Blank.doc is there for you to use over time and time again!

- Give your New Document a name.

- Now Save your New Document.

- You should now see the Blank.doc and your New Document listed at the Main Directory for Docs To Go.

- When you open Exel you will see your Blank.xls file.

- When you open Powerpoint you will see your Blank.ppt file.

- Follow the steps listed above in each application to create a New Document.
