After that last week of a weight gain I was determined to lose weight. I bought some new workout DVDs from Weight Watchers and I also ordered a new glass scale. I felt extremely motivated.
During this time I also had a trip scheduled to the Alexandria, VA/Washington, DC area for the holiday weekend. That was definitely going to be a challenge. How would I handle that? Could I keep track of my points and not go crazy? These questions kept going through my mind on the flight there.
On the first day I was there, I spent the day in Old Town Alexandria. I walked around everywhere taking pictures, shopping, and sweating from ninety degree weather. I drank plenty of water and ate light that day. In the evening I went dancing in Washington, DC. By the end of the night I had gotten a great workout. I felt great and was having a lot of fun.
On Sunday I went on a walking tour of Washington, DC and that was great. I walked for hours and it was such a great fun time. I’m so glad I went on that trip. By the time I left my muscles were aching and I didn’t even do my traditional workout at all!
I weighed in when I got back. I lost 1.6 pounds that weekend! I felt so great! I felt back on track and so healthy. It was a fun way to workout. I was glad I mixed up my routine. Sometimes you have to mix things up to get results.
