My name is Jay and I will be continuing the “Living the Android Life” series here on Brenda Cares Corner. I look forward to sharing my Android Journey with the Brenda Cares Corner Community. Let the Journey Begin!
I have a new android (EVO) phone that I received a couple of weeks ago. This is my journey to find applications I need for a well rounded smart phone.
My first journey was finding the right twitter application for me. I used the Twitter Peep application that came with the phone. It was very basic and I used it for maybe 20 minutes but I needed more than that for my twitter application.
The first third party Twitter application I tried from the android store was the Twitter for Android application. I liked this application because it gave me my tweets, mentions and direct messages in an easy to find/ view manner. On the main page and I could see a preview of pictures in followers tweets. However, I got tired of seeing that twitter blue and white color every time I went into the application.
The next third party application was TweetCast. I liked that you could change the theme and change the font size. The icons for seeing the tweets, @ replies and direct messages were right on the top for easy viewing. I also liked that when you clicked a link it gave you various options on what you could do with the link. It’s very nice and easy to view but it was not quite what I wanted.
The last third party application I tried was the Twidroyd application. It has all the features I like from the other applications. I can view the trends and profiles quicker and load more tweets compared to the others. I can also use colors with this application, it has color options for Tweets & Themes. The Twidroyd application seems to be the best Twitter application for me to use on my android device.
