I found myself having to adjust after no longer being part of Weight Watchers. I had more freedom and I let it get to me a bit this week. I ate pizza three times and McDonald’s twice. I knew that wasn’t the right thing to do but I found myself doing it anyway. My first thought was, why was I doing this to myself? That food is not good for me at all. It generally makes me feel ill after I eat it. Once again I wondered why.
The answer came while I was taking a quiz on www.everydayhealth.com. The quiz asked me about my eating habits. It was revealed that I am an emotional eater. When I’m doing well I want to reward myself with food. I call them treats. When I’m feeling down I comfort myself by eating. Now that I am aware of this, what do I do about it?
The answer to that question is not an easy one. I’m taking one day at a time and trying to adjust my eating habits. I also have problems going on with digestion right now. Many foods that I love cause me to have an upset stomach. I’m struggling right now to figure out which foods I can eat. At times I feel down I eat horribly. That’s been happening this week, as I struggled with the realization that I need to get tests done and may need to see a specialist for my digestion problems.
I’m battling through this tough time. I find using my elliptical to be the best exercise for me. Some of my workout DVDs cause discomfort when I do some of the exercises. I also walk about two hours total every day. When I weighed in I found I weighed the same as the week before. Apparently my working out balanced off the day I ate horribly. For the next week I will work harder at improving my eating habits and will listen to my body. I’m still in this and will endure during this time I will end up smaller and healthier as well.
